

Dolores Camella McCusker, 81, of Danbury, CT, passed away on Monday, May 19th, at Danbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Edward McCusker. Dolores was born in Waterbury on June 8, 1932, the daughter of Nicola and Rose Iannantuoni.
Dolores attended Tinker High School in Waterbury. She went on to attain a degree in Biology from Tufts and a MS in Teaching from WCSU. Early in her career, she worked in labs at Yale under Dr. Nicolas Green and at Harvard under Nobel Laureate Dr. Frederic Hisaw. In Danbury she worked as a biologist at Davis and Geck, a chemist at Boehringer Ingelheim, and as a biology teacher at Danbury High School and Immaculate High School. She retired from her position in quality control at MannKind at the age of 79.
Dolores was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed international travel and her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by her son Kevin and daughter-in-law Karen and their children Camden and Carolyn of West Hartford, her son Owen and daughter-in-law Carrie and their children Anna and Sean of East Lyme, her sister-in-law Dorothy Iannantuoni of Waterbury, and several nieces and nephews.
