

Dorothy was born in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Florence Amy and Adam Daniel Muller. She grew up in Bethel, attended Bethel schools and was a graduate of the former Crandall Secretarial School in Danbury. Dorothy’s first job was helping Frank Menke, a famous sports writer, who wrote the Encyclopedia of Sports. She then worked at the Shepard’s Leather Company in Bethel, where she met her future husband Frank Gallagher. Dorothy and Frank were married on May 12, 1945, at St. Peter Church in Danbury. She loved the many years that she worked at the Danbury News Times, where she retired in July of 1998.
She is survived by her son Thomas Francis Gallagher, a niece Janice Muller and nephew Eric Muller of California, as well as other nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her infant son James Gallagher and her brother Philip A. Muller of California.
Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Friday February 10, 2012 12 30 pm. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
