

Earl Eakin of New Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22 at Danbury Hospital. Earl was born and raised in Long Island and was the only child of Earl Eakin and Emily Lucille Paris Eakin.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Eakin, “his wife, his life”, their two children, son Matthew Eakin of Danbury and his daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Rich Martinson of New Fairfield, his 4 beautiful grandchildren, Sarah, Billy, Kevin and Lynae, his brother-in-law and wife, Thomas and Janet Tobin of South Hampton NY and many nieces and nephews.
Earl graduated from Fordham University in the Bronx and later went on to receive his Masters in Education from Hofstra University and taught Social Studies for many years in New York City and then Ridgefield, CT. He was gentle and kind, patient and loving, strong and faithful. His faith and love of God never wavered and he looked ahead with joy to everlasting life. He loved his family with all his heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Edward Church, New Fairfield. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends will be received from 5pm – 8pm on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
