Born in New York to James J. and Grace W. Perkins, she grew up in New Fairfield, CT where she attended the local schools and then graduated from Danbury High School. While in high school she distinguished herself on the women’s basketball team with an ambidextrous approach to the game.
Eve, an interior designer, married Peter B. Mancino, an attorney, in 1986 and together they delighted in their mutual love of art and antiques. They renovated a number of homes and business buildings. Eve had an amazing eye for color, furnishings, placement, and planning that extended from interiors to award winning landscaping.
She is survived by her brother, Captain John J. “Jack” Perkins of West Palm Beach, Florida; a sister, Susan G. Perkins Jansen of West Palm Beach; brother, Tom Perkins of New Fairfield, CT and his wife, Thora Perkins. Her niece, Laura Jansen of The Netherlands; and nephew Commander Vincent Jansen of Astoria, Oregon and his wife, Ellie, and son, Fraser.
Eve loved us all and we will miss her energy, her love, and most of all her humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021 at St. Marguerite Church, Candlewood Lake Rd, Brookfield with the Rev. George O’Neill, officiating. Burial will follow in Bridgewater Center Cemetery, Bridgewater, CT.
