Gary Anthony Peloso was born in Yonkers, NY, on September 12, 1955, son of the late Salvatore and Gilda Peloso. He climbed the stairway to Heaven on April 27, 2019 after his courageous fight with brain cancer.
Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Debbie of 38 years and their children, Gary and Danielle, as well as his daughter in law Christin and his grandchildren Ava Grace and Haley Ann Peloso.
He leaves his brother Brian, his wife Maria and their children Anthony and Joseph Peloso as well as many cousins and extended family and friends.
Gary graduated from Lincoln High School in Yonkers, class of 1973, and was fortunate enough to make lifelong friends from there.
Gary’s greatest achievement in his life was the love, drive and dedication he instilled in not only his children, but also in everyone that came into contact with him. This showed not only in his business as a self-made commercial general contractor who worked for major hospitals and medical facilities throughout the NY area, but also through his love and passion for music and football. He was a football coach for pop warner, as well as a number of high schools in the New York and Connecticut area. To his credit, he started coaching a semi-professional women’s football team and was instrumental in organizing the Connecticut Wreckers Women’s Football Team for over six years (Wreckers for life!)
Gary was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Brookfield, and was a 4th degree Knight as well as a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed many happy years in Wildwood, NJ with family and friends, especially the Labadia, Pinella, DeGhetto and Hogan families.
Gary will be missed dearly by all and we consider ourselves blessed to have had this man in our lives.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 4-8pm at Green’s Funeral Home in Danbury, CT. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish in Brookfield, CT on Friday, May 3rd at 10:30am with procession to St. Mary’s cemetery in Bethel, CT.
