Gerard J. Shea, 77 passed away on Wednesday, May 26th. Jerry was the husband of Edna K. Shea for nearly 46 years of marriage. Born in Farragut, Idaho on March 25, 1944, son of the late Mary Connolly and Gerard M. Shea. Jerry attended high school at Priory School, in Washington, D.C., and Stonehill College in Easton, MA. He worked for Chrysler Financial for 35 years and loved helping everyone get into a new car. Jerry lived in Cheshire and Watertown, Connecticut from 1976- 2010, and was a parishioner of St. Bridget’s Church and active in the Cheshire Food Drive. He enjoyed rooting for the UCONN Huskies, The Washington Football Team, The Minnesota Twins, and following local sports teams. For the last 11 years, Jerry lived in Hudson, FL where he enjoyed numerous activities during retirement. He loved to golf, played bocce, and played bridge, as well as being a member of the Sportsmen’s and ROMEO clubs.
Jerry will be remembered by his friends for his determination and hard-work to always get the job done. He is survived by his spouse Edna Shea, daughters, Julie Moore and son-in-law Michael, Nicole Solimine and son-in-law, Micheal. His grandchildren Mitchell Gerard and Shea Elizabeth Moore and Bella Lucille Solimine. Survived by brother, Richard Shea (Janice) and Sister Mary Pat Czajkowski (Joseph). As well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Church, Danbury, CT. Burial will immediately follow at Saint Peter Cemetery, Lake Avenue Ext. Danbury, CT 06810.
