

Gil was a graduate of the Henry Abbott Technical High School and worked in the heating and cooling industry before joining the US Navy. He was assigned to the USS Wyoming, Submarine Squadron 20, where he served for six years as a missile technician. He earned the respect of his of his shipmates by demonstrating the highest degree of responsibility, dependability and trustworthiness.
Gil was devoted to his family and friends and much love was returned to him. He was an avid sports fan who followed the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. He loved classic rock and roll. Gil had a generous and fun-loving spirit, and a terrific sense of humor that no one who knew him will ever forget. His family was always incredibly proud of him.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Toni of Danbury, CT. Gil is also survived by his siblings, Thomas LaClair and his wife, Nina, Marie LaClair of Danbury; Patricia Person and her husband Ryan of Center Moriches, New York and his grandmother Lorraine LaClair. He has three nephews, Thomas and Jackson LaClair and Ryan Person who will miss Uncle Gil greatly. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends from home and the Navy.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury CT, where a remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11:00am, followed by interment at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury, with full military honors.
