

Helen was born on June 1, 1921 in Danbury, CT to Hipolit and Petrunella Pracuta. She was the widow of William Noble Morrison. She leaves behind two sons: Michael Morrison and Robert Morrison and wife, both of Danbury. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: William, Robert and wife Danielle and Gina, along with a great grandchild, Travis. Helen also leaves behind one brother, Edward and wife Anne. She was pre-deceased by her siblings Stella, Chester, and Mary. She will be missed by her seven nieces, one nephew and their families.
Helen was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1936 and the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing. Helen served as a lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corp during WW II and was registered in the National Women’s War Memorial in Washington D.C. She was a member of the Navy Nurse Corp Association and the Catholic War Veterans.
Helen served as an active member of the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Danbury. She served her community as a nurse, including the position of first aide nurse at the Great Danbury State Fair for many years. She also served many years as a den mother for the Boys Scouts of America.
Helen’s artwork has been admired around the greater Danbury area. She was a member of the Richter Park Association where she received several awards for her paintings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.
