

He was born in Hempstead, Long Island, New York on April 26, 1947, to Nora and Howard Brady.
Jim had a true passion and love for life. He played high school football from 1961-1965 at Danbury High School where he was known as “Diamond Jim.” Following his high school education, he entered the workforce at Hoffman Energy, retiring after 40 years.
Outside of his career, Jim loved golf. One of his proudest achievements was obtaining two eagles on Hole 9 at Richter Park in Danbury, CT. Jim was also an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team.
Jim was a committed member of AA where his wisdom, courage, and great advice was counted on by many. He and “The Boys,” (as they later were referred to as) continued to meet until the end.
Jim is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bartkovsky Brady; daughter, Robin Brady; son, James Brady and his, wife, Tricia; son, Shawn Brady and his girlfriend, Christin Lafo; sister, Rita Mancuso; sister Anne Traynor and her husband, Joe; brother, Bill Brady; stepdaughters: Jessica Ballas-Costa and her husband, Filipe; Samantha Ballas-Brown and her husband, Tyler; Sarah Ballas; and Madison Ballas and her fiancé, Christina Taranto. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Mikaela Brady, Kaitlyn Fernandez, Danielle Brady, Jaclyn Fernandez, Fiona Brady, Mackenzie Brady, and James Fernandez; great granddaughter, Remi Ballas; former wives Nancy Brady Barchi and Carole Brady, as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He is predeceased by his mother, Nora; father, Howard; and grandsons: Zachary and Kyle Brady; and a nephew, Michael Mancuso.
In honor of Jim’s wishes, a visitation will be held from 1pm-4pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT.
