Jim Ferry, known affectionately by many as "Tommyboy" and "Jimbo" took his last breath today. Those who knew him can attest that Jim is not gone at all, but rather has moved onto the next party. Do not grieve for him, remember and love him fondly, and strive to enjoy the remembrance of his life like he enjoyed every person who he came into contact with.
Jim is survived by more family and friends than can be listed here, but first and foremost by his amazing wife of 22 years, Cilene (dos Santos) Ferry, who provided for his every need in the final weeks of his life and for his kooky demeanor for 24 years.
Jim and Cilene were the owners of Tommyboys Bar in Brazil after he spent a career working tough guy jobs such as furniture mover, forklift operator and loading dock. He was an avid weightlifter, Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees and Knicks fan.
Jim has left to join his mother, Marilyn in Heaven and leaves his father, Clayton Ferry, his stepfather, Paul Lebwohl, his brother, Mark Ferry and his two sisters Ellen Bennetti and Elizabeth Ferry, as well as many brother and sister in laws and 18 adoring nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Section #16, St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury with the Rev. Joseph Shepley, Rector of St. Paul Church, Brookfield officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-8pm on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
Contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the Transplant Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Post Office Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508-9979 or go to www.ynhh.org
