James Fredericks

James L. Fredericks, age 86 of Canaan, formerly a longtime resident of Danbury died on Thursday June 14th after losing his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Gladys, his ten children: Janice Arbitell and her husband Rocky of Southbury, Jamie Carollo and her husband Fred of Flagler Beach, FL, Karin Modzelewski and her husband Mark of Brookfield, Kathy Fadden of Norwich, David and his wife Chris of Oxford, Donald and his wife Sheryl of Danbury, Douglas of Danbury, Danny of Bethel, Denise of North Canaan, and Dennis of Deltona, FL. James is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

James retired from the Barden Corporation after 37 years. He was a volunteer fireman at the Mill Plain Fire Department where he had served as chief three times. James also served as a councilman for the City of Danbury. He was a U.S. Navy Seebee veteran, serving in the South Pacific during WWII.

The family will receive friends on Monday June 18th at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury from 6 thru 8pm.

Graveside services will take place on Tuesday June 19th at St. Peter Cemetery Section 20, Danbury at 11:30am.
