

James E. Stinchcomb, age 68 of Danbury died on Friday Dec 2nd at the Danbury Hospital. James was born June 2, 1943 in Annapolis, MD, the son of the late Paul Stinchcomb, and the late Virginia (Pantall) (Stinchcomb) Harmke. A longtime Danbury resident, he was a retired employee of Hipotronics of Brewster, NY. James was a member and past governor of the Moose Lodge # 1373, Danbury. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, or spending the weekends in the Poconos. He enjoyed playing chess, Texas Hold’em, watching NASCAR racing, and babysitting his grandchildren. He was lovingly known as “the delegator” to family and friends.
A special thanks is extended to James’ physician, John Chronakos, M.D., along with other medical professionals and home health aides for the care provided to James during his illness.
James is survived by his companion of 38 years Marie Henriques, his sons: Brian Stinchcomb and his wife Carrie, Tony Stinchcomb and his wife Royce, Mark Stinchcomb, and Kevin M. Schewe and his wife Carmen of Danbury, his siblings: Pauline Fischer, John Harmke and his wife Katie, Robert Harmke and his wife Valerie, and William Harmke and his wife Carol, his sister in law: Lolly Bongiorno, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his step father John Harmke, brother Gary Harmke, and brother in law Lawrence Fischer.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30am on Thursday Dec 8th in the Green Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm.
