

Jane Cataldo of Southbury, CT, entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2013 at the age of 93 with her granddaughter, Alyssa, at her bedside. Jane was born in New Brunswick, NJ, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Adelphi College and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from New Paltz State University in New York. She taught in Union Free School District #5 in Levittown, New York for 28 years. After retiring, she and her husband, the late Joseph Cataldo, relocated to Southbury and joined Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury. She worked part time as a proofreader at The Newtown Bee. Jane loved tennis, golf, playing cards, reading, doing the New York Times crossword puzzle, bowling, gardening, and most of all, being with her loved family.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son: Michael Masterson (Fran), daughters: Susan Forrest (Michael) and Cathy Ford (David). Her granddaughters: Jennifer Patten (Michael), Alyssa Detmer, Erin Geloso (Jason), Monica Maude (Warren) her great-granddaughters Hanna Patten, Timber Horton, Isabella Geloso and great-grandsons: Jacob Geloso and Wyatt Maude. Jane also leaves behind her cherished cat, Missy.
There will be a private service for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in her name to the Hospice Team, 50 Brookside Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.
