Joann was born in Danbury daughter of the late John and Ruth (Shannon) Herrick. She was a 1949 graduate of Danbury High School and had worked for many years as a secretary at the former Fairfield Hills State Hospital. She was a former parishioner of St. Peter Church.
She is survived by her cousin Kimberly (Cervera) Winter of Danbury and Barry, Scott, Mark and Craig Worthing, all of Maine. She was predeceased by her cousins Maureen (Austin) Worthing of Portland ME and Harriet (Herrick) Cervera of Danbury. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips taking her to places near and far.
A graveside service will be held in section 15 of St. Peter Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
