He was a machinist and served in WW2 on the cruiser the USS Pasadena. He was present when the Japanese surrendered in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. When the war was over, he came back to Danbury to become an expert auto body mechanic and the owner of the Park Garage.
Beside his passion for machines and cars he was an avid train collector. He spent much of his
“retirement” enjoying running trains with his friends. On the weekends Jack and Jeanne enjoyed going out to restaurants and parties for dinner and dancing. As the grandchildren got older it was dinner and a carnival or shopping. Jack was a family man and he cherished his relationships with all of his family near and far. He was sentimental and would become very emotional when there was a special occasion or a family gathering. Jack was known throughout Danbury; had many friends and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
