Joe was born in Stamford, CT on December 31, 1939, to Joseph and Mary (Ippolito) Amalfitano. He attended Stamford public schools and was a graduate of University of Connecticut, Storrs.
Joe was a U.S. Army veteran and served between April 1965 – December 1969.
Joe spent most of his career as a government contract sales manager servicing the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring from DRS in Danbury, CT formerly known as Consolidated Controls.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Joe is survived by his three children: Erik Amalfitano (Jill); Michael Amalfitano (Sharon) of Danbury, CT; and Pia Amalfitano Heine (John) of New Jersey. Brothers: William (Judy) of Danbury, CT, Nicholas Amalfitano (Paulette) of Leesburg, FL; and sister: Irene (Ron) Curtin of Weston, CT.
His grandchildren: Brennan, Avery and Arden Amalfitano; Chase and Caden Amalfitano; Evan, Owen and Colin Heine, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2:00pm – 5:00pm on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home starting at 5:00pm with the Deacon William Murphy, officiating.
