Joseph L. Zarrelli, a longtime resident of Danbury, died October 20, 2011 at Danbury Hospital. He was 86 years old. Joseph was born September 20,1925 in Pozzuoli, Italy the son of the late Joseph and Maria( DuPuis) Zarrelli. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS LST-672 and was a Credit Union Manager for Amphenol RF until his retirement. He was a member of Catholic War Veterans Post 1042 in Danbury and of St Joseph Church.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph Zarrelli and his wife Laurie of Glastonbury, Mary Frances Varanelli and her husband Kenneth of Waterbury, Paula Tomassi and her husband Michael of Danbury, and by six grandchildren, Mary Catherine Varanelli, Jennifer, David and Anthony Tomassi, and Kristen and Joseph Zarrelli. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Emily in 2010.
Funeral services will be held in private at the request of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Funeral Home in Danbury.
