Kevin was born in Bronx, NY to Thomas D. Sheehan and Barbara (Weis) Sheehan on March 2, 1962. Growing up and attending school in Danbury, CT, Kevin always loved attending races at the Danbury Race Arena, which in turn led him to become a lifelong stock car racing fan. He was a dedicated New York Giants and New York Mets fan and endured many challenging seasons. In his spare time, he enjoyed discovering new places riding his motorcycles with his son and friends while listening to rock and roll, which was his favorite.
Dedication was something that came easily to Kevin. He dedicated his time and service to both Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department for a combined 36 years. During his service with Brookfield, he held the rank of Assistant Chief and received Brookfield’s first Honorary Chief Award. Kevin transitioned his service to Stony Hill and achieved the rank of Captain. In addition, he received the Firefighter of the Year award.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sandi. His son Thomas (Kate-Lyn), and the apple of his eye and granddaughter Julianna. He is also survived by his mother Barbara, his brother Michael (Margaret), sister Mary (Robert), sister Eileen, brother Christopher and his mother-in-law, Margaret Havel. He had many adoring aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He leaves many lifelong friends; ranging from his childhood all the way through to his dedication to the fire service and everywhere in between. Kevin was an incredibly impactful person, someone who not only had a strong presence in his community but also left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas D. Sheehan.
