Loretta B. Ifkovits

Loretta B. (Blank) Ifkovits, born Jan 4th, 1940 of New Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday December 10th with her family at her side after a long illness just a few weeks shy of her 78th birthday.

Lori is survived by her husband, Edward Ifkovits of more than 57 yrs. and was the daughter of the late Martin and Theresia (Mueller) Blank. She was the sister to Martin and Theresa (wife) Blank of New Fairfield, CT, Robert and Diane(wife) Blank of Sherman CT. and Sister in-law to Christine (late husband John) Ifkovits of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

She was the devoted mother to three sons, Edward and Patricia (wife) of New Fairfield, CT, Stephen of New Fairfield, CT and Michael and Rachel (wife) of Danbury, CT. ie is also survived by her five grandchildren; Nicole, Thomas and Kate(wife), Brian, Lauren, Michael, and one Great-grandchild, Connor, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lori was born in Bronx, N.Y. and graduated from St. Pius before moving to New Fairfield, CT 51 yrs ago to be close to her family. She worked for Sears for 20 yrs where she retired as a Human Resourses Specialist.

She loved to travel, particularly cruises as well as visiting family both here and Germany and Austria. She loved gardening and especially sharing her love of cooking with everyone around.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Saint Edwards Church, New Fairfield, CT. Interment will immediately follow at Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT. Family will be accepting condolences at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Regional Hospice & Palliative Care of Danbury in her name for the loving care they helped provide in a time of need.
