
Lucien Simard, 81, of Danbury, CT died unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on Thursday morning. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Perreault) Simard. Born in Eagle Lake, ME on May 19, 1931, Lucien was a son of the late Eddie and Yvonne Dube Simard. He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. A retired employee with Advance Steel, he retired in 1992 as a general foreman after many years of service there. Lucien was a resident of Danbury for over 47 years; he was a member of St. Joseph Church in Danbury. He also maintained a home in Port Richey, FL. and was an avid shuffle board enthusiast.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son: Kevin Simard and his wife, Kathy, of Littleton, CO. One daughter: Tammy Kenny and her husband, Thomas, of Danbury. Two grandchildren: Justin Kenny and Lindsay Kenny. His siblings: Norman Simard of Bristol, Fernand Simard of Eagle Lake, ME, Kerry Simard of Pennsylvania and Rolande Blanchette of Danbury. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Simard, and a sister, Fern Palmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury with the Rev. Fr. David Franklin, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will be in Eagle Lake, ME at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lucien’s memory may be made to benefit cardiac care at Danbury Hospital to the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.
