
Madeline M. (Esposito) Auciello, 101, of Danbury died peacefully on Saturday evening at her home. She was the wife of the late Peter “Benny” Auciello. She was born in Danbury on March 20, 1911, a daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena Massimo Esposito.
Madeline attended St. Peter School in Danbury and worked for the Frank H. Lee Hat Company for over 30 years until its closing. She later joined R. F. Amphenol until her retirement in 1976. Madeline was a member of St. Peter Church, St. Peter Senior Citizens, St. Joseph Senior Citizens and the AARP.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ethel Russo; brothers Frank and Joseph Esposito; and her niece Evelyn Russo. Survivors include her nieces: Phyllis Pagano and Josephine Esposito of Danbury and a nephew: Frank Esposito of Alabama. Her devoted friends: Britt and Douglas Cantela, Faye Hutter, Helen Spadaccino, Bette Cyr, Dick and Marita Schulz, her childhood friend, Millie Barbera and her good natured caretaker, Patsy Lewis. She will be sorely missed by her Chihuahua, Honey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
