

Marga (Goeller) Stubner passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the age of 90. Born on January 27, 1924 in Nuremberg, Germany, she is the daughter of the late Jakob and Elisabeth (Grimm) Goeller and wife of the late Guenther Stubner, who she was happily married to for 55 years. Marga was a Kindergarten teacher in Nuremberg, Germany, until she and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1950, and shortly thereafter became US citizens. She was an avid gardener, music and theater lover, wonderful cook, baker, and a nurturing and compassionate mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Watko of Brookfield, CT and Heidi Stubner of New York City, son-in-law Tim Watko, and her two beloved granddaughters, Stephanie Watko and Mia Stubner.
She is also survived by her cousins, Alfred Grimm and his wife Lisbeth, of Forchheim, Germany; Sophie Liwowski of Munich, Germany and two nieces, Alison (Goeller) Salerno of Wappinger Falls, NY and Jennifer Goeller-Morsey of Danbury, CT, as well as numerous friends.
A Mass will be held at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, 138 Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, CT, at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Monday, August 11, followed by a Christian Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.
