
Margaret was born November 15, 1918 in Bethel, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah E. (Brady) Murphy. She was raised and educated in Bethel, and was a graduate of Bethel High School where she played basketball. A resident of Danbury for over 60 years, Margaret was employed with The Bargain World as a manager of the store’s toy department. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Danbury, and in her later years enjoyed spending special times with her family at their home on Cape Cod.
Margaret is survived by her son: Bernard J. Barrett of Danbury, three daughters: Marna Hanna and her husband Michael of Mount Pleasant, SC, Elizabeth Magazzi and her husband Martin of Woodbury, Sarah Morey and her husband Ronald of Danbury. Margaret was predeceased by her daughter Bridget DeLeo. She is also survived by one brother: Thomas Murphy of CA, two sisters: Helen Murphy of Bethel and Ann DeFlumeri of Danbury, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Candlewood Valley Health Care Center.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday April 17th in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Immediately following the service, burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00am until the time of the service.
