Martha was born on December 24, 1954, in Rye, New York, to George and Kathryn Bayha. She attended Rye High School and went on to build a successful career as an office manager, certified ophthalmic technician, and surgical care coordinator. To that end, she was a friend to all of her colleagues and led a fulfilling career in service to others.
Martha married the love of her life, Henrick Malpica, and together they raised their beloved daughter, Anicia Malpica. She was the stepmother of Anicia’s three siblings, Erik Malpica, Daniel Malpica, and Gillian Karg (Malpica). She was a devoted and adoring grandmother to Jonathan Malpica, Rachel Bigg (Malpica), Stephen Estrada, Catherine Estrada , and Henrick Malpica, all of whom brought her endless joy. She was also a committed and adoring aunt to Veronica Moore, Ron O'Brien, Kassy Peterson (O'Brien), Stacey Peterson (O'Brien), Kendall O'Brien, and Regan Heagerty (O'Brien). Finally, she is sister to Maureen O'Brien and George Bayha.
A true animal lover, Martha similarly cherished her canine companions Opi, Molly, Chip, Bam, Mia, her grand-dogs Barkley & Scout, and even had a soft spot for Anicia’s hermit crab, Digger.
Martha was passionate about spending her summers by the sea — from Montauk to the Outer Banks — surrounded by family and friends. She was known for her generous heart, warm smile, and kind spirit. Her love for her daughter, grandchildren, friends, and dogs was boundless, and she touched the lives of all who knew her. Martha was a believer in having fun and enjoying life to the fullest, and she succeeded in doing that.
Martha’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her family will receive visitors on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 3 - 5 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury with a prayer service and family reflections at 4:30PM.
