Michael was born in New York, NY, son of the late Michael J. and Nellie (Fleming) McLaughlin, Sr. He attended New York City schools and served in the US Army, 192nd Field Artillery during the Korean War era. He had worked as a truck driver for the Froehlich Transportation and was a member of Teamsters 677. In 1995, he retired from Yellow Freight. He was a member of American Legion. Michael enjoyed being by the ocean and Nascar Racing.
In addition to his wife, Karen Larson McLaughlin of 29 years, he is survived by his seven children Sheila & Denis Dupuis; Rhea Letourneau; Patricia McLaughlin; Catherine & Wayne Miller; Barbara McLaughlin; Michael J. & Jennifer R. McLaughlin, III; Owen McLaughlin; stepchildren Michael King & Gail; and Kimberly & Lenny Gaita; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and his beloved cat Minnie-Poo.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
