

Nancy N. Tuite, age 94 of Danbury died peacefully on Thursday December 2nd at Hancock Hall, Danbury following a brief illness. She now joins her beloved husband Martin George Tuite in Heaven who died on October 18, 2011.
Nancy is survived by her son Martin Patrick Tuite of Danbury, her sister in law Winifred Tuite of Novato, CA, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her very much.
Nancy was born June 24, 1927 in Woodside, Queens NY, the only child born to Patrick and Lydia (Williams) Nolan. She was the first generation born here in America, as both parents were born in Ballina, and Belfast Ireland.
Nancy graduated from Bishop McDonnell Catholic High School, Brooklyn NY in June 1945. In 1946 and 1947, she attended business school in New York City, and following completion of her studies was hired as a secretary for the American Can Co., working there for 19 years.
Nancy married Martin George Tuite on January 30, 1965 at Saint Sebastian Church, Woodside, Queens NY, and following the birth of their son Martin Patrick, they moved to Danbury, CT in December 1969. Nancy would work part time, but spent the majority of her time raising her son and being involved in many activities at Saint Joseph Church and School. She was a member of several groups including the Ladies Guild, the Council of Catholic Women, the Lay Carmelites, and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Mary McWhorter Division 58, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Wednesday December 8th from 4:00pm thru 8:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday December 9th at Saint Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
For those attending the visitation and funeral mass, it is requested that face masks be worn and that social distancing be practiced for the health and wellbeing of all.
