Pete was born on May 19, 1959 in Rogale, Poland to Boleslaw Przyborowski and Teodozja Rakowska. He was the fifth of seven children. The family immigrated to the United States on December 7, 1966 through Canada and settled in Englewood, NJ.
Pete loved and lived for football. He was a player, coach, and life-long fan. Pete attended New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) then transferred to New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU) where he was the 1981 Championship Quarterback with number 19 on his back! He obtained his Master of Science in Education and worked as a graduate coach at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. He started as a Receiver Coach and became the Offensive Coordinator and was then promoted to Assistant Athletic Director. Pete spent 17 years there and loved coaching college football. He was also a scout for the NIT.
Pete moved to Connecticut and started a family. He worked in automotive sales and had been at Greentree Toyota for many years. He enjoyed helping people find the right car and he was good at it. Pete was inducted into the NMHU hall of fame in 2014 as a player and again in 2024 as part of the championship team. Pete has always remained an active member of the Highlands Football Association.
Pete loved all things food related, especially green chili and smoked meats, and loved to share his passion with others. He even grew his own chili peppers and made his own kielbasa! His quick wit and meticulously planned antics kept everyone laughing. Pete loved his family and friends, and spending time with lighthearted laughter was his greatest joy. He was a natural encourager; as a coach he inspired players to become not only better athletes but also better men. As a husband, father, and uncle, Pete loved well, always encouraging others to be their best. He was proud of his family and was loved by everyone.
Pete is survived by his wife Jan, his children Jared and Saffron, and his stepchildren Connor and Amy. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Karen, Elizabeth (Ken), Jane (Bruce), Christopher (Mariola), Hanna, Hedy (Brian), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents.
