Ralph James Gallagher Sr.

Ralph was born in Bethel, CT, son of the late Rinaldo and Mary (Ferry) Gallagher. He attended Bethel High School and entered the Army in 1943 during WWII, where he served in the China, Burma, and India Campaigns. After returning home from the service, he worked alongside his father at R.J. Gallagher, Inc., where he took over the family business after his father's death in 1969 and remained until he retired in 1995. He was a 70-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Danbury and a past member of the Danbury Yacht Club.

Ralph is survived by his son Ralph J. Gallagher, Jr. and daughter Julie Johnson (Peter), granddaughters, Heather Knapp (John) and Robyn Sabbagh (Nabeel), great-grandchildren, Riley, Adria, John IV, and Sophie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Doris Gallagher, Verna Rebhan, and Elaine Keane, and daughter-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” Gallagher.

Calling hours will be held on December 27, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. Funeral services will be provided at 7:00pm following calling hours. Interment will be private.
