

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Chino was a son of the late Gregorio and Maria Melecio Ramos. He attended schools in San Juan and was a horse trainer there before moving to Danbury in 1955. A former employee of the Mallory Hat Factory and Barden Corporation in Danbury, Chino was a longtime produce manager with various supermarkets in the Danbury area. He was most recently with the A & P, retiring in 2012. Chino was a loving a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with his family. He was also an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed horse racing. He attended the Kingdom Way Pentecostal Church in Danbury.
Survivors include his daughters: Ada Mayoral of Danbury and Yvonne Betancourt and her husband, Miguel, of Danbury. His sons: Rev. Ramon Luis Ramos, Jr. and his wife, Ines, of Danbury and Danbury Police Detective Luis O. Ramos. His grandchildren: Priscilla, Cynthia, Miguel Jr., Pablo, Melissa and Henry. His brothers: Victor and Gregory of Florida. His sisters: Juana Guevarez and Maria Camacho, both of Florida. 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
