Richard was born in Norwalk, son of Eleanor Barnum and the late Percy Barnum. He attended Norwalk schools and had worked as a truck driver for the Meyers Rigging Company of Stratford.
In addition to his wife Susan and mother Eleanor, he is survived by his sons; Bruce of OH, Wayne and wife Sherri of PA and Steven of Danbury, his brothers Daniel of NH and John of NC, his sister Patricia Albano of Milford, his grandchildren; Chelsea, Wayne, Kevin and James and his great granddaughter Mercades.
Family and friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT, on Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment services will be private.
