

Richard “Dick” Perry Dumont, Major United States Army Retired, age 70, of Danbury, CT, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014. Dick was born in Portland, Maine on August 30, 1944 to the late Lucien and Phyllis nee Perry Dumont. After graduating from South Portland High School, Dick enlisted in the United States Army. During his military career he completed the Army Physicians Assistant Course earning an AS from Baylor University and a BS from SUNY. He served as a PA in the Army for over 19 of his 31 years of active service. He served faithfully and honorably until his retirement in 1994. After his Army retirement, Dick moved to Danbury, CT accepting a PA position at Primary Care Center, where he worked for several years before joining the Hospitalist Team at Danbury Hospital, from which he retired last year.
Some of Dicks many enjoyments were fishing, golfing, and woodworking. Dick was a proud member of Red Sox Nation and was also a devoted Patriots fan. A man of genuine integrity, generosity, and warmth he leaves an indelible mark upon his family, and all who knew him.
He leaves behind his cherished wife of 15 years, Alissa Howley Dumont, and his children, son, Ryan D. Howley and wife Amy, son Evan P. Howley, and daughters, Michele Diamond, Jennifer Fuglestad and husband Nick, and Alison McCleaf and husband Brian. Brother, Lucien Dumont and his wife Judith.
“FiFi” / “Grampy" will be greatly missed by his treasured Grandchildren, Noah, Alexis, Bella, Lucia, Emerson, Henri, Chelsea and Josh.
Dick also leaves behind a beloved extended family of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, many cousins, his wife’s Grandparents Robert and Carol Dugan, and his most loyal friend and “best buddy”, his dog Murphy.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury, CT 06810, on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm, with a service to be held at the funeral home at 7:15pm. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
