Richard was born in Baldwinsville, NY a son of the late David and Gertrude MacArthur.
Richard graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Physics and Biology. He was an Executive Chef who has worked in several fine dining restaurants, which included Emily Shaw, which is now called the Inn at Pound Ridge in NY.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, cooking, skiing, target shooting, and vacationing in the Bahamas.
Richard is survived by his wife: Maud G. MacArthur. His children: Rebecca E. Naveira (Rafael) and Robert G. MacArthur (Cecilia) and his grandchildren: Riley, Skyler, and Rafael.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
