Rocho Lucsky

Rocho was born November 7, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Andrew S. and Christine F. (Meyer) Lucsky. Growing up in Danbury, he was a graduate of both the Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury High School. He had been a resident of New Fairfield since 1978.

Rocho was employed with the Dayton Rogers Manufacturing Co., Electric Snake Sewer and Drain Service, and for 22 years worked with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Safety as a truck inspector, until his retirement in 2009. Rocho also worked for the STA School Bus Company in Danbury, as well as being the owner/operator of Economy Drain Service from 1990 until 2011.

Rocho was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danbury, where he served terms on both the Board of Trustees and Board of Lay Ministry. As owner of Economy Drain Service, Rocho sponsored Danbury PAL softball teams for eight seasons and also coached girls’ basketball at Immanuel Lutheran School for two years. Rocho also enjoyed travelling, taking several cruises and trips throughout the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Rocho was a devoted husband and father. In addition to his wife Christine, Rocho is survived by his daughter Christy Benway and her husband Keith of Ocala, FL, stepson George A. Sutton Jr. of New Fairfield, daughter Sara Beth of New Fairfield, sister Christine Wharton of New Milford, sister Connie Piskura of New Fairfield, brother Mark Lucsky of New Fairfield, half brother Don Gentry of Corpus Christi, TX, two grandsons: Nicholas and Patrick Benway of Ocala, FL, as well as three aunts, one uncle, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday Sept. 27th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury at 11:00am. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury on Wednesday Sept 26th from 4 to 7pm.

Memorial contributions in Rocho’s memory are asked to be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one’s choice.
