

Roy “Shine” Clemons has departed his life on Friday, May10, 2013 at the age of 55 years old due to natural causes. Roy was born in Danbury, CT, a son of Mabel Armstrong Clemons of Danbury and the late Willie Ray Clemons.
During the early stages of his life, he attended Danbury Public Schools. He graduated from Danbury High School with honors, with a concentration in business administration. While transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, Shine was culturally inclined and became an active member of the Harambee Youth and Community Center under the direction of Bill Curtis. Shine also enjoyed basketball, fishing, wrestling and collecting antiques.
Shine loved his family, friends and children; especially children with special needs. Perhaps the love in the forefront of his lifestyle intellectually induced his thirst for enrichment. Ultimately, his career shifted and he continued his education by enrolling in Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, where he majored in Special Education. He also utilized his special skills by taking care of his “lil sister”, the late Mary Louise “Mooney” Moore….he loved him some “Mooney”.
Shine was employed at Bantam Printing Co., Davis & Geck, Kingswood Kitchens and Danbury Pharmaceutical Company. He was a member of the Holy Trinity A.F. Church in Bridgeport.
Besides his mother, Shine leaves his children Rausheda Clemons-Moore, Tashima Blakely and Raumad Clemons-Moore. His stepsons: Alton and Dwayne Moore. His fiancée: Dorothy Moore. Three sisters: Caldion Faust (James) of Waterbury, Vivian Colden (Fred) and Veverly Clemons (Anthony Tucker) of Danbury. One brother: William Clemons (Antoinette) of Georgia. His God-children: Kalonnda “Boomzy” Taft, Deltrina “Chickenwing” Duren and Ronell McNair. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
He was predeceased by a brother, Willis “Lee” Clemons and his grandparents: Fred and Sophia Morning Armstrong and Roy and Irene Newsome Clemons.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at 11am at the New Hope Baptist Church, 10 Dr. Aaron Samuels Blvd., Danbury. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received on Saturday morning from 9am until 11am. Arrangements by Green Funeral Home, Danbury.
