After his retirement in 1996 he and Patty enjoyed 18 happy years together living in Murrells Inlet, SC. with many special neighbors and friends in their community. Stan enjoyed woodworking, metalworking, and volunteering at Brookgreen Gardens, Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels, and hosting a constant flow of family visitors. Before returning in recent years to Newtown, he and Patty enjoyed boating and the beach, visits to Ireland, and sailing the Inland Waterway and the Caribbean; especially around their favorite island of Tortola.
