My name is Kevin Kilroy and I met Tom at the Volvo store in Danbury where I sold him and his family a Volvo station wagon. He wanted this vehicle to keep his family safe. Tom was such a nice guy, very personable and every time I saw him when he came to the store for service we talked cars and goofed around. He always was upbeat and had a smile. I knew from the short time we interacted he was a very nice person and could have been a good friend had we known each other in a different time and place. When he was first found about his condition we spoke about it and I told him I would pray for him and he was grateful. I am truly sad.

Tom gave so much to so many aspiring gymnasts.  He did it with class, dignity, and a smile on his face.  Every person he worked with was better for the time spent with Tom, and this concept he applied ten-fold to his family.  Such a loss.  He will be missed.

Mary, so sad to hear about your lost one. Tom and I met at Club 24 when I found out he was with the State Troopers. We just said "Hello" at first and then got to know one another at the Club 24. We'd share stories of out ailments and surgeries. There was a period of time that Tom and I had not seen each other but sure enough we meet again at the Club and we caught up on own lives. He knew I was a Vietnam Vet and had GREAT respect for me! He always had that smile on his face and was I lucky to have been in his life, but a short time.

Mary, My deepest condolences to you and your family. As a former newspaper reporter in Southbury, it was often a challenge to strike up good relationships with troopers given the nature of my work, but Tom always treated me with respect when I stopped by Troop A during my daily rounds to pick up the police blotter. My daughter does competitive gymnastics, and I enjoyed hearing stories about his competition and later coaching days. We shared many a laugh, and I truly appreciated his friendly demeanor and willingness to help me when I needed information. I missed seeing him when I moved on from the newspaper, and I am so deeply sorry to learn of his passing.

Tom was a positive influence on my son Christopher. I remember the one time I meet Tom with our English Mastive.
