Thomas was born on October 6, 1959 in Bronx, NY, and was the son of Daniel and Antoinette (Castaldo) DeAngelis. Thomas lived in New York until moving to Connecticut 31 years ago. Initially working in the culinary arts Thomas made the transition to become an electrician choosing a more stable career to start a family. With a strong work ethic, Thomas dedicated over 30 years to the Local 3 electrical union. Often telling stories of experiences on the job, Thomas was passionate about getting the job done and right.
Thomas met his beautiful wife, Joanne, at the age of 22 years old and they were married for 36 years. They had a daughter, Amanda, who wasn’t the easiest baby, but Thomas insisted on having another child so she could have a sibling. Completing their family, Jaclynn, their second daughter was born. Thomas was a devoted husband and father. Despite his rough exterior he never hesitated attending cheerleading competitions to support his daughters.
Thomas valued spending time with his family and friends. To name a few, Thomas loved riding his motorcycle, The Dallas Cowboys, rock and roll music, animals, horse races, and war history. He cherished memories of his dogs Max and Davidson. His greatest joy though was when he became a “Pop-Pop” to his grandchild, Landon, who clearly became the light of his life. Thomas will be remembered most for his story telling, honesty, strong backbone, dependability, and generosity.
Thomas is survived by his wife Joanne, daughters Amanda Fusco (Christopher) and Jaclynn (Nick), and beloved grandson, Landon Thomas Fusco.
