After surviving WWII, she met her husband, Hugo, a German-born U.S. citizen, who was visiting his family in Germany. They married in 1958 and moved back to the U.S. where they lived in Pelham, NY, and spent the next 40 plus years raising their family. She lived in New Rochelle, NY another 15 years, then moved to Danbury, CT in 2014.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Barbara Cirella of Danbury, CT, and Ingrid Palazzo of West Caldwell, NJ; their husbands Rob and Peter, and her four grandchildren, Nicole, David, Ryan and Aimee. She was always the gracious hostess, well remembered for her German cooking. She was a beloved grandmother who attended every one of her grandchildrens plays, dance recitals, TKD testings, choral concerts, soccer games, robotics tournaments and graduations for as long as she was able. She loved her church and held on to her faith, which brought her much comfort as the years went on. She may be gone from this earth, but never from our hearts.
A visitation for Wilma will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
