A lifelong Dartmouth resident, he was the son of the late Ferdinand F. and Theresa M. (Saint) Giovannini. A graduate of Dartmouth High School, John worked as a union laborer for 15 years.
Survivors include a son Nicholas John Giovannini of Dighton, seven siblings, Lionel “Peter” Giovannini and his wife Pamela of Scituate, Norman Giovannini and his wife Linda of North Dartmouth, Ethel Leidhold of Wareham, Victor Giovannini and his wife Ana of Fairhaven, Stella Souza and her husband Joe of Westport, Catharine Laurell and her husband Jon of Chatham and Carmel Arruda and her husband Jack of Dartmouth, and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were in the care of the Waring Sullivan Funeral Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA.
