Born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Francisco and Angelina (Melo) Sousa, she came to the United States in 1952, lived in Dartmouth for many years before moving to Nashua.
Angie loved the comforts of her home and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Angie could often be found in the kitchen listening to music of all kinds. She enjoyed cooking and going out to eat with family.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Rego Jr. and wife Kate Rego of Dartmouth, Susan Riquinha of Crystal River, FL, Caroline Raposa and husband John of Dartmouth and Donna Rego of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Isabela Pacheco and husband Jorge of Lutz, FL and Almerinda Medeiros and husband Joe of Fairhaven, MA; her former daughter-in-law, Diane Rego; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Farland, Timothy “TJ” Riquinha, Ashley Atchue, Jay Atchue, Amy Gifford, Kaitlyn Rego, Andrew Rego and Gabriel Rego; her great-grandchildren, Jaryd Dosanjos, Jayda Dosanjos, Benjamin Farland, Riley Farland, Ethan Riquinha and Xander Riquinha; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Schwartz Center for Children, 1 Posa Place, Dartmouth, MA 02747. Arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
