Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to a loving, kind man. In the early morning of January 27th, 2020 surrounded by love, Andy was reunited with his Father (Charles) and Big Brother David. He fought hard and he fought brave but sadly his fight with cancer was not a battle he could win. He will be forever loved and missed by his mother Dorothy Hood and sisters Linda(Dennis) Keith, Colleen Judge Hood, Carrie (Keith) Haggett and Mary Hood. He was a super proud uncle to Lori and Julie Hood, Dylan Haggett and David and Daniel Keith and a fur papa to his beloved Dog Frodo and bad cat Little Sis. Andy graduated from Lakehead university and after spent his working life at the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources where he started in St Peter's Cape Breton before moving to the Jeddore Office. Making lifelong friends in both places, he thought of them as family, speaking of them all often. Andy has asked that you join us with your fondest memories to share and stories to tell. Please watch his facebook page for updates on his upcoming memorial service at a later season. Should you wish to do so, instead of flowers please donate to the Shubancadie wildlife park or to the salvation Army Scotian Glen camp. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Dartmouth General Hospital 4w and to Dr. VanTol for her hope, support and inspiration and extended family Shelly & Carmel and Captain Brent Haas.
Please remember "only you can prevent forest fires"
