

LAUREIJS, Arnold H.P. - 56, of Dartmouth, N.S. passed away from a suddenly at his home. He was born in Antigonish, the son of the late Peter and Aldegonda (Vermeer) Laureijs. Arnold attended Dalhousie and attained a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering. He received certification as a system analyst/computer programmer. He attended St. Mary’s University for Project Management and received certification for Facility Management from the University of Toronto. He designed and completed many construction projects and worked for 20 years at Purolator Courier. He was most recently employed at Century Hyundai and Honda of Truro. Arnold was a devoted father and husband. He was kind to all and lived his life as a model for his children. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, researching family ancestry and history. Arnold was a meticulous gardener and handy-man, and took great pride in his home. He thought deeply about life and he and Diane enjoyed many thoughtful conversations, long walks and humorous moments. If only we would have had more time with you Arnold, it still would never have been enough. We love you so. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Taylor) Laureijs and sons Brian and Robert, his sisters Catherine (Ron MacGillivray), Apollonia (Linda Fraser), Gonny, Mary Rose, Jopy (Marvin Haagsma), Pauweliena, sister in-law Janice (Deyoung) Laureijs, brothers Corry (Robin MacLean), Peter (Beth Jeans) and many nieces and nephews. Arnold was predeceased by his brother, John. Visitation will be held at A. L. Mattatall’s Funeral Home on Friday April 13 from 6-8 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 14 at 1:30.
