Age 85 of Mount Uniacke passed away on February 22, 2026. Born in Tufts Cove, he was the son of the late John and Edith Cleary. Survived by his daughter Mary, brother Ken, sister in-law Irene, nieces, nephews, and fur baby “Buttons.” He was predeceased by his wife Helen and two brothers.
Dad started his career in the grocery business working for the Dominion Stores. He would later work for Atlantic Wholesalers as a Store Manager. After decades in the grocery business, he retired from the Atlantic Wholesalers warehouse location.
My parents celebrated 62 years of marriage before my mother’s passing. He told me that he would see her again. He is now in the eternal arms of my mother and surrounded by those he loved and missed.
My father was a good man and a great father. He was my hero. I will miss him forever.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held later as per his wishes.
