

Age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Frances and Ewart Venus. Bob spent 13 years of his young life working as a coal miner and was there in 1958 to help with the recovery after the bump. He and his wife Thelma moved to Dartmouth in 1963 where he worked for Zenith Electro-plating for many years before retiring. He was a kind, easy-going man with a great sense of humour, making everyone laugh. He was a loving and devoted husband to Thelma for 64 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Salter); daughter, Pam (John Boyd); granddaughters, Andrea and Olivia; grandson, Josh; great-granddaughters, Brianna and Peyton, all of Dartmouth; sisters, Ruth and Brenda, Ontario. He was predeceased by his sons, Bob, Glenn and a baby boy in infancy; brothers, Donnie, Murt and Jerry; sisters, Margie and Fran. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service by request. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. The family would like to thank the great staff of OVCCC “Bayside” unit for their kindness and compassion showed to Bob and still to wife Thelma.
