Carl Duncan

Duncan, Carl Sinclair- 95 of Dartmouth, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He was a son of the late William L. and Flora Jane (French) Duncan and a lifetime resident of Dartmouth. Carl was retired from H.M.C. Dockyard where he was employed for 33 years. He was a life long member of Christ Church, a past Master and 68 year member of the Masonic Order Eastern Star Lodge #51 and a former member of Renown Chapter #19 Royal Arch Masons. Carl was also a charter member and past Patron of the Queen Ester Chapter 61 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He helped establish the original Little League Baseball Association in Dartmouth and was an active member of their executive for many years. He is survived by his son Wayne (Elizabeth) of Dartmouth, brother Donald (Elaine) of New Minas and granddaughters Stephanie and Keltie (Tim Purcell) of Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Elsie, brothers Vern, Jack, Reg, Robert, Bruce and sisters Audrey and Mary in infancy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19 at 2 pm in Christ Church, Wentworth St., Dartmouth, Rev. Stephen Laskey officiating. Burial to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
