We share this deep loss with you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I can remember 50 plus years ago when our parents were young and in their prime , how they would all love to have their summer trips down to Guysborough and the old homestead, bags, baggage and kids in tow. The cousins would romp through the fields, explore the old farm, and on down to the river for a family swim. That would be followed with supper, and then the cards would come out. Mom and her sisters would all be talking at the same time, I could never follow the conversation. The men would be concentrating on the cards, they say some may have been cheating, but they would never admit it. Lots of fun and lots of laughs for all. Those were the days!

I  called her Mrs. Cleary and although I had not seen her for a long time, she always welcomed me. A very kind and sweet lady. I recall many visits to the Gaston Road home. I am sorry that I haven't kept in touch with Liz. Please email me,

Dear Elizabeth, Bill and Doug, my deepest condolences on the passing of your mother. Heaven has been blessed with another angel. This sweet, amazing lady will always be alive in our hearts and in our wonderful memories of time shared together. No trip to Nova Scotia was ever complete without spending time with Aunt Kay. She always had another wonderful story to tell of the “Bowie “ ladies. She is dearly missed by all who knew her.

Travelled "a few" miles with the girls, Kay, Aggie, and Mom. Always lots of laughs, especially when none of them knew how to drive, nor read a map... No passports were needed. Great memories and stories to tell.

 I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing.  She was always pleasant and seemed so happy with her life and family.  She will certainly be missed by many especially her famiy.  They would so much enjoy their get-togethers and their card games.  Keep all those memories in your heart and cherish them.

Words cannot express how sad I feel hearing about Aunt Kay.  Sorry for your loss.  Aunt Kay was such a wonderful person.  I always enjoyed my visits with her.  When I would visit NS I always looked forward to driving Mom up to Dartmouth to visit with her sister, and I would laugh at the two of them when they would get together.  They were like two young teenage girls when they were together, whether it was at Aunt Kay's house or when they would be out shopping in the Mall.  I had to keep a close eye on the two of them when they were out at the Mall!  I've attached a photo from 6th September 1948 with all the Bowie sisters gathered together.

Catherine, my husband's aunt, was a sweet lady who loved family gatherings.  She also enjoyed shopping. I remember meeting her in Mic Mac Mall and having tea on a few occasions.
