Gary Brian Hilchie

A lifelong resident of Dartmouth, Gary was born on September 27, 1945. He was the son of the late Reginald and Rita (Wirral) Hilchie.

Gary will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn (Young), his daughters Denice Pugsley (Steven) of Waterdown, ON and Rhonda Murray (David) of Eastern Passage, NS and granddaughters Emma and Rachel.

He adored his granddaughters, loved to spoil them and beamed with pride in their accomplishments.

Gary was predeceased by his sister Gloria Trider, brother-in-law Martin Trider, and brother Reginald “Reg” Hilchie.

After retiring from Moirs Chocolate Factory, Gary was able to spend more time enjoying his family and friends and his favourite activities of golf, gardening, crib, baking rice crispy treats, and morning coffee with his buddies at the Atlantic Superstore. Gary loved to talk to everyone, tell jokes, and share a good laugh.

In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation will take place under the direction of A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home in Dartmouth, NS. Private burial will take place at a later date.
