

WIMBLE, Grace Lillian - of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018 at Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Born on July 2, 1925 in Tufts Cove, daughter of the late May (Pearmine) and John Wimble, Grace lived most of her life in Tufts Cove. Most of her young life, she was active in the Girl Guide movement, being a leader for many years and following that being a leader for youth in her church community. Grace started out her career as a seamstress working for furrier companies and over the years took secretarial training and was employed as a secretary at the VG hospital, from which she retired. She was recognized for having over 20 years of perfect attendance in continuing education evening classes in Dartmouth. Over the years, Grace enjoyed travelling. She went on many trips across Canada and to the United Kingdom, the Holy Lands and Brazil; some to visit friends and family and others with tour groups where she made so many friends.For those close to Grace, when she was your friend, your family became her family. She was an “Auntie” to many. She loved baking treats for sharing and adored children. Grace will be dearly missed and is survived by her nephews David Wimble (Barb Lougheed) Ontario and Stephen Wimble (Tasha Flunney) New Brunswick, along with several close friends, including Joyce Hancock, Nelson Metcalfe and the Freckelton family. Special thank you to the dedicated staff of Ocean View Manor who looked after Grace so lovingly. Grace was predeceased by her parents, her brother John Wimble, sister-law Elaine and sister May. She had an abiding faith and is safe in the arms of Jesus. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9th at 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church,100 Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth, with a reception to follow and burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery. No flowers by request.
