To the family of the late Hilda Miriam Nelson (nee Sparks)

On behalf of Pastor Lloyd Grant, his wife Cecile, the Leadership and members of Beechville Baptist Church, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late Sis. Hilda Miriam Nelson.  Sis. Hilda touched the lives of many and when she was able she was very active in her church and community.  She will be missed by all who knew her. We hold the family in our prayers and trust that you will find comfort in knowing that she is at home and at peace.

John 14: 27-29 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, â€˜I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.
May God continue to strengthen your family during this time of need.  Lean not unto your own understanding but in all things acknowledge and trust in the Lord.

On behalf of my mother and myself, I wish to convey my deepest sympathy on the passing of your loved one.  Knowing Mrs. Nelson for many years she had such a kind spirit and wonderful demeanor. She was a woman of dignity and a child of God.  When I would see her in the earlier years she would always have a smile and something pleasant to say. She and mom were friends, working in both the Women's Missionary Society and Ladies Auxiliary Groups.  Mom would often visit her at the nursing home. Then mom ironically ended up in the same nursing home. While visiting each day, Mrs. Nelson's disposition never changed.  She still remained pleasant with her signature smile.
I hope that you will find comfort in the fact that she has not only touched your lives but the lives of others as well.

She is now safe in the arms of Jesus, happy, no more illness, where those of us who believe will go someday through this journey and meet one another again.  You will all continue to be in my prayers.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.â€ Isaiah 41: 31

Late Sister Hilda (Sparks) Nelson

As you walk through this time of loss, may you know that the Lord walks with you and He will comfort you.

I have many fond memoirs of Sister Hilda.  She was kind and loving to everyone.  She would call me Big Sister and when I would come home on vacation, she would always invite me over for supper.  She would say supper will be served at 5 but when I got there she would still be in the kitchen cooking.  After much talking and laughter, we would finally set down to eat somewhere between 8 & 9 o'clock.  

Jackie, I thank God for giving you the courage and strength to take care of your mother until her death.  Find in comfort in the many fond memories you have of her.

I was saddened by the news that Aunt Hilda passed away. Then the sadness that I felt left me to realize that Aunt Hilda knew the God she served. I have no words that can provide you comfort on your grave loss, but I can offer you Jesus's words  The son of our living God promises:

"Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that hearth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24-26)

God's finger  touched Aunt Hilda and she slept. Aunt Hilda sleep well from your niece (Shyella) yes it correct, Aunt Hilda said she named me accordingly: Shyella Sheila sorry Aunt Hilda..I'm sticking with the Birth Card Celeste Sheila:)!

To Jackie, Selita, Pamela and extended family, our sincerest condolences, we're sending a hug from afar. We remember when we came home for visits to Nova Scotia and Hilda would invite us over for dinner, she would tell us to be there for 5pm, due to us laughing, talking and catching up on news from Toronto we wouldn't eat until 9pm because she would forget to cook. She will be sadly missed by all.

To Jackie, Selita, Pamela and family. We will miss Hilda very much, she was so good to me and Mother, she would always call and take us out shopping or just for a drive in the city for a coffee or tea, or we would just hang out at the house talking and laughing for hours, she will be sadly missed.
May God comfort and bless each of you at this time knowing that your Mom really loved the Lord and she also lived that life serving the Him.

I can't express how much my heart hurts at the passing of my Grandmother.  She was a kind loving person who welcomed everyone and would do anything for you.  I will never forget you and love you very much.  Our bond will last forever.  XOXO
