

WEDLOCK Howard Kendrick -95 born in Hunter River PEI August 15 1917 passed away peacefully November 22, 2012 at the Shannex Home in Kentville Nova Scotia. Son of Everett and Janie ( MacKendrick) Wedlock ( deceased ) two sisters Irene and Marjorie ( deceased ) and brother Allan ( deceased ) wife Gladys ( Pound ) deceased. He is survived by Son David and partner Gladys England, two grandchildren Jonathan and Anna. He attended Mount Allison Academy and University, and served in the Second World War with the Eastern Air Command Headquarters Halifax. He Joined the Government of Canada in the field of Hydrometric / Hydrographic surveying in 1945. He obtained his Nova Scotia Land Surveyor’s certification in 1948 and was an active member in the Professional Land Surveyor’s Association. After retirement from the Government of Canada, he became Executive Director and Secretary of the Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors, holding that position from 1982 – 1989. When a second retirement was taken. He was a past member of the Jr. Board of Trade, Dartmouth Curling Club, and a long time member and Director of Brightwood Golf and Country Club. He was a Life member of St. Georges Tennis Club Dartmouth serving as President. He was also a member of the Dartmouth Golden K’s Kawanis Club. In his later years he taught Contract Bridge at the Dartmouth YMCA. The family would like thank the staff at Shannex Kentville for the exceptional personal care provided. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. A memorial service will be held 1pm Monday Nov. 26, 2012 in A.L.
